Berkeley DB Java Edition in A New Version




Software giant, Oracle has released version 3.3 of Berkeley DB Java Edition on the Oracle Technology Network.

Oracle Berkeley DB is a family of open source, embeddable databases that allows developers to incorporate within their applications a fast, scalable, transactional database engine with industrial grade reliability and availability.

According to the company Berkeley DB Java Edition is an open source, non-relational database written in Java. The data are of a so-called Java Collections-style interface and a programmatic interface, similar to the Berkeley DB API.

A deferred mode can now be used for purely temporary databases or databases, which was later put into service in a parallel, transactional type configured, improved scalability, less use space in the log file format, support for Google’s Android Davlik JVM and, Maven support are some of the highlights of this release.
