Oracle and ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced that they have extended their alliance in connection with the marketing and development of service delivery platform (SDP) offerings in China and globally. Oracle and ZTE will leverage their complementary strengths in communications and enterprise software to collaborate in the development of an SDP blueprint and proof-of-concept. Both parties will work with additional partners to enrich the total SDP solution.

The current Oracle Service Delivery Platform (SDP) offering is a comprehensive, standards based software environment for creating new IP-based communications services. By using carrier-grade J2EE as its basis for the Service Delivery Platform, the Oracle-ZTE SDP blueprint will enable a standards-based environment for the design, development, deployment, and management of services that lie at the heart of IT and network convergence, claimed the company.

“ZTE has been a key strategic Oracle partner leveraging our technology products for the past several years. The signing of the Strategic SDP Collaboration Agreement is yet another significant milestone and represents the commitment of both Oracle and ZTE to further our partnership with the goal of improving our value proposition to the Communications market. Oracle is looking forward to achieving SDP success with ZTE in China and on a global basis,” said Stanley Chew, Vice President, Technology Sales for Greater China, Oracle.
