AMD Unleashes Energy Efficient AMD Athlon X2 Processors
AMD has recently come up with two new 45-watt processors, Energy Efficient AMD Athlon X2 4450e and AMD Athlon X2 4050e processors. These AMD Athlon X2 45-watt processors are the latest effort by AMD to enable energy-efficient platform solutions that better meet the performance and digital media consumption needs of users.
According to the company, these new 45-watt processors enable OEMs to offer differentiated solutions, enabling the development of smaller and sleeker form factors that can cut down on energy consumption, take up less space, and operate with less noise. Beyond the processor, AMD offers further efficiency gains for users when AMD energy-efficient CPUs are combined with the recently launched AMD 780G chipset, for systems designed to deliver the ultimate mainstream computing experience, claimed AMD.
These processors are mainly designed for mainstream and enthusiast power users who run multiple processor-intensive applications simultaneously, and for digital media enthusiasts looking for enhanced digital content creation and consumption capabilities with energy efficiency.
The company did not disclose pricing and availability details.
