Portal Pack 2.0 Available for NetBeans 6.1
The final version of Portal Pack 2.0 for Netbeans 6.1 is now available for download. Portal Pack is a set of plug-in(s) for NetBeans (IDE) these modules support full life-cycle of portlet application development inside NetBeans. To use Pack 2.x plug-ins, one needs to use NetBeans 6.x IDE. Portal Pack 1.x plug-ins works with NetBeans 5.5.x IDE.
NetBeans 6.x IDE Portal Pack provides portlet support through web framework. In NetBeans 6.x one can add portlet support to an existing or new web application by adding Portlet Support framework.
Using this tool portlet developers can develop, package, deploy and test portlet inside their NetBeans IDE. By automatic code and Deployment Descriptor generation, this tool helps developers to develop portlets quickly. It provides a tight integration with portal servers like Sun Java System Portal Server 7.x, The OpenPortal Portlet Container on java.net to support deployment and undeployment of portlets on both local and remote server.
Visual Portlet Builder for creating JSF portlets with a WYSIWYG editor, portlet 1.0-2.0 taglib code completion, portlet filter support, drag and drop support for filters and public Render parameters to support deployment Open Portal 2.0 portlet container and portlet container 2.0 bundled with Java Application Platform SDK U5 and deployment support to Sun Java System Portal Server 7.2 and support for WebSynergy are the key highlights of this new version.
This project is a subproject of the OpenPortal project and follows the license and governance practices from that project.
