New Policy Project Announced by Metro
Metro team has announced their new policy project. Metro is a high-performance, easy-to-use web service stack and this open source project is a part of the Metro community within GlassFish on java.net.
The Project aims at making JAX-WS WS-policy aware, by moving out the generic policy code from project Tango. In the long term, the project aims to provide a common, abstract policy API layer. The API design should be independent of any particular policy expression language. Instead it should be use case driven and ease-of-use oriented.
The project is inspired by the experience of WS-Policy and other policy language for Web services in the Tango Project. WS-Policy Implementation in tango will be in this project in a more general sense in the policy domain approximated and policy functions in a wide range of Java-SE and Java EE applications. The web site is already fully operational and the policy base code checked in.
